A14 Improvement Scheme suggested Cycling route Swavesey to Knapwell

Disclaimer: This route is a suggestion based on existing rights of way. It has not been tested.

Approximate length of route 26.2km. 

Start: Cambridge Services, board 37

Cross the roundabout heading right using the footbridge crossing Huntingdon Road

Head north along Bucking Way Road past board 7 towards Swavesey

Turn left at Gibraltar Lane continue to the end and turn left onto Fenstanton Road

At the junction, turn left onto Rose and Crown Road and then turn right onto Scotland Drove (track) and back towards the A14.

Rejoin the public right of way alongside the old Huntingdon Road towards Fenstanton past board 9.

Continue along the Cambridge Road through Fenstanton

Turn left onto Hilton Road and use the subway to go under the Cambridge Road and rejoin the Hilton Road.

At the junction with Conington Road turn left. 

(As a short detour, continue approximately 650m south along the Hilton Road to vew board 13 and return to the Conington Road junction)

Continue along Conington Road and turn right to take the bridge over the A14 and past board 12 and into Conington

(A second short detour, take the New Barns Lane road back towards the A14 to view boards 11 and 10, approximately 1.6km each way)

Take the Elsworth Road past Conington and into Knapwell

Past Knapwell, take the left turn down Thorofare Lane (track) 

At the end of Thorofare Lane turn left along Battle Gate Road into Boxworth

Go through Boxworth and board 6 back towards Cambridge Services and Board 37
