A14 Improvement Scheme suggested Cycling route St Ives and Godmanchester

Disclaimer: This route is a suggestion based on existing rights of way. It has not been tested.

Approximate length of route 29km. 

Start: St Ives

Head south along Bridge Street over the river.

At the junction with the old Huntingdon Road continue over the road using the brrdge

Continue along the Hilton Road past board 14 and 15

In Hilton turn right along Graveley Way to A1198

Turn right onto A1198 then turn left after Lattenbury Bridge along Barnfield Lane

Follow the road through Graveley along the High Street into Offord Road

At Offord D'Arcy turn right onto the High Street through the village

Continue on this road past board 18

At the junction with Berry Lane, turn right towards West Street, Godmanchester

At the junction with Old Court Hall road, turn right. continue down this road into London Street and Earning Street

At the junction with Cambridge Road turn right. 

Continue over the bridge along Cambridge Road, take a left turn along Cow Lane

At Godmanchester Eastside Common turn right before the old railway and cross the common towards Common Lane.

Continue along Common Lane and turn left onto Meadow Lane

Cross the river and continue along the public right of way over Hemingford Meadow

Cross Houghton Lock and take the public right of way past Houghton Mill into Houghton

At the Green, turn right onto Thicket Road, cross Meadow Lane trackway and continue along Thicket Road

At the scout centre in St Ives turn left then right to join Westwood Road

Turn right onto Ramsey road and continue onto Church Terrace

Follow the road round to the left onto The Waits and then the Broadway to return to Bridge Street.
