The Embankment runs along the river Nene and is within easy walking distance of the city centre.
On any day of the year, the Embankment is a lovely place to sit and unwind. Plus, as it's less that five minutes walk from the city centre, many people take time out of a busy day to visit, have their lunch and return to work feeling quite refreshed!
Many events are held here throughout the year, including the Peterborough Festival, Peterborough Beer Festival, river festivals, open air concerts and circuses. The Embankment has overnight mooring facilities and public conveniences, and, in the summer months, the water's edge can be an array of colours with many boat owners deciding to spend the day in Peterborough.
There is ample parking in the area for those who wish to enjoy a casual walk along the willow lined footpath and cyclists can follow the Green Wheel route
If you are community group that volunteers at The Embankment, please update the 'Tell us something is missing' form below.
