Spring Common

Cambs Open Space

Spring Common is named after the natural spring that runs through the middle of this 13 acre area of public land. With a peaceful pond and open grassland, it is great for walking the dog, having a picnic, meeting friends or spending time watching the wildlife.

The variety of marsh, ponds, streams, grassland and scrub provide a mixture of habitats for many mammals, amphibians, invertebrates and birds. More than 15 species of birds and over 70 different types of plants have been recorded at the Common.

Description

The rangers from Hinchingbrooke Country Park hold conservation work parties to look after the site. We always need volunteers to help with practical tasks, such as tree and shrub planting, grassland management work, pond clearance, litter picking and much more.
