This is part of a series of 5 trial sessions in Cambourne designed for home-school families. They can be enjoyed individually or as a programme.
In this session, join Becca Badger for an adventure on Cambourne Nature Reserve. We'll walk to Oaks Wood, (maybe climb a tree?) and then have a go at making some things from wood using basic tools like saws, potato peelers, and secateurs. We might:
- cut some wood slices to make a pendant
- lash some sticks together to make a frame or star
- cut some elder to make beads
- Make a magic wand
This session is perfect for ages 5-13. Older children will also enjoy the activity. It is not suitable for children under 5 for health and safety reasons. You are welcome to bring pre-walking babies in a buggy or sling, but please do not bring other children under 5. Please ensure you book for everyone who will be attending on the day.
These are family sessions so children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The sessions are designed for everyone to enjoy.
