Celebrate the Fens Day at Chatteris

Fest Photo

Several volunteers plan, manage and maintain this 1.58 acre park for the benefit of the town of Chatteris and visitors wishing to experience a basic outdoor venue for walking and enjoying nature. It is linked to other walking routes, too and from the town.

A volunteer will take you on a 30 minute tour to view the current planning, lay out and wildlife and talk about the development and content of the park and its future and how it relates to local nature, heritage and wellbeing. Pre-booked tours from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

What is it like?

A flat but un-metalled footpath runs around the perimeter of the park and along the old railway toward Huntingdon Road, Chatteris. No toilet or other facilities are on site or nearby. We recommend wellies and waterproofs if its a wet day. A picnic table and large log seating areas are available.

Access:

There is limited parking next to the Anglian Water pumping station adjacent to the park. Parking recommended at West Street and a short walk along the farm track or parking at the Huntingdon Road end of the railway line footpath which is signposted and connects to the park. Wheelchair and buggy access is possible, but challenging, especially in bad weather.
