Birdsong for Beginners

Bird

WHAT DOES A BIRDSONG WALK INVOLVE?

Dr Jade Gunnell will lead you on a relaxing and leisurely walk, listening out for our local breeding birds and discussing the eye-opening antics of their breeding season. You will learn tips and tricks for listening to and making sense of birdsong, and then get a chance to learn and practice identifying a number of common songs. Each event focuses on 6 different songs, so that you can develop your skills over several events, if you wish to come again.

AUDIENCE

Suitable for adults and teenagers, who are beginner or novice bird watchers and would like to expand their skills.

Whether you're completely new to bird identification, or a dab hand at identifying by sight but don't know the sounds, this short walk/workshop is perfect for getting to know our feathered friends that little bit better.

LOCATION

We lead these walks from St Ives and Houghton Mill.

TIME

Birdsong for Beginners walks take place in the morning, when the birds are most active, and last for 1.5 hours.

COST

Tickets are £15 per person.
