Astronomy Night in the Great Fen

We are excited to be joined by St Neots Astronomy Association for this special event.

Don't miss Bob Graham's fascinating presentation 'Two Launch or not to Launch" - a pictorial description of his two trips to Kourou, French Guiana, to witness Ariane 5 launches. Learn about the launcher and facilities together with his personal recollections. Bob spent over thirty years in the UK Space industry in senior engineering and management positions prior to his retirement in 2013.

Afterwards, we will head outside (weather permitting) to observe the Great Fen's night sky. We are proud to be a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site here at Ramsey Heights, so unless the clouds get in the way we should have wonderful views of the Moon and Jupiter!

We recommend this event for age 12+. Please note, the event will still go ahead in bad weather, but will only feature the indoor talk and a look at the telescopes. Refreshments are provided.

Please dress warmly for the outdoor portion of the event and bring a torch. You may wish to bring your own binoculars and telescope.

A photographer may be present at the event and taking pictures for Wildlife Trust BCN use so please let us know if you'd rather not be included. Any children photographed will be asked for a signed media consent form from their responsible adult.
